Allonby is an ideal location for a family holiday with a beautiful sandy beach and stunning views across the Solway Firth to Scotland. The Lake District fells are just a short drive away and there are some very good golf courses within easy reach including Silloth, which is a fabulous links championship course. For shopping visitors will find both Workington and Maryport have plenty to offer.

	Walking When it comes to walking there are plenty of opportunities available from Dickinson Place ranging from a stroll along the beach, walks down nearby country lanes, or a short car journey will take you to nearby Lakeland fells.
	Shopping Maryport and Workington both offer good opportunities for shopping. Workington in particular has a Debenhams, plus a major retail park that includes PC World, Morrisons, Halford, B&Q, Pets at Home and Dunelm Mill.

	Attractions There are a number of good quality visitor attractions in and around the area including Gincase Farm Park, Tea Room, Craft Barn and Gallery in Silloth, The Lake District Coast Aquarium at Maryport, Senhouse Roman Museum at Maryport and The Rum Story at Whitehaven.
